INDIANAPOLIS -- One day before a Boston Celtics game early this season, Al Horford saw something peculiar. Jrue Holiday, who has been a guard his whole life, was practicing a shot Horford would.

After arriving in a blockbuster offseason trade, Celtics guard Jrue Holiday has agreed on a four-year, $135 million contract extension, his agent told ESPN on Wednesday.

The Boston Celtics and guard Jrue Holiday have agreed on a four-year, $135 million contract extension, league sources confirmed Wednesday. ESPN first reported the news of the deal.

Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens called it a "no-brainer" to pursue Holiday when the five-time All-Star became available.

The Celtics are acquiring Holiday from the Blazers in exchange for Robert Williams III, Malcolm Brogdon, and two future first-round picks.

The Portland Trail Blazers traded point guard Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics, the teams announced Sunday. In exchange for Holiday, Portland received guard Malcolm Brogdon and center Robert Williams.

Holiday is headed back east. The Celtics acquired the two-time All-Star guard in a deal that will reunite him with former New Orleans Pelicans teammate Jayson Tatum.
